I went and read everything on the iguana den. It sounds reasonble and makes sense to me what he says about oxalic acid only binding with the excess calium. I found that I am actually using a combination of MK & ig den diet. After reading everything I'm actually going to try a full ig den diet soon. Next time I go to the store to buy new veggies. I do know that trying to feed alfalfa is like trying to pull teeth. I have had to crush the pellets and sprinkle very lightly. If I over do it both Sneakers and my box turtle won't even touch their food.

The one thing I know is that I'm not a nutritional expert by any means. You ought to see what I eat. LOL I have to go by what other people who have done the ground work think. What Kevin says makes sense. He is very sure of his position, which can be good or bad depending on how you want to look at it. I just think I'm going to lean a little more towards his diet and see. It seems very healthy. iZ's mom, you work at a hospital right? Maybe you could ask your nutritional expert on staff about oxalic acid and how the body handles it. Then just let us know what he/she says. Of course that would just be an opinion also if this is such a hot debate.

This is a little off topic. Actually it is way off topic. Will someone give me the address to the IML (Iguana Mail List). I actually just found out what that meant. I had seen people use IML and had never known what that was.
