You can use plastic or rubber coated mesh. Don't use screen. Some use the metal hardware cloth but they can really damage their noses on it. I can't use any of these for my iguana because he is too hyper and damages his face and feet too much from these materials. I stuck with melamine, wood, and plexiglass. Others have had luck with some of the less destructive meshes.
