: Hello everyone,
: I am Cheryl w/Squiggy my female 3 1/2 year old iguana. I have been coming here for years, but seldom post usually just read...just thought I would re-introduce myself. Anyways, Squiggs has been doing this new thing, I just introduced her to cantalope as an occasional treat added to her usually collard/turnip greens. Lately whenever I open the door to feed her, she knows because she hears the bag, she starts fiercely bobbing her head, like she is excited..I don't know if it is because she LOVES this new cantalope (I think it is her new favorite over her first love yellow squash...lol) Is head bobbing, often a sign of excitement? I don't think she is doing it in a threatening way, because she then waits patiently for me to handfeed her a couple pieces so she doesn't have to come down from her ledge (can we say...spoiled rotten ig! lol..) Oh well even though she's lazy I love her anyway! Just wondering,
: Cheryl
It can be friendly or it can mean "get lost" (LOL). Every morning when I uncover Max and I say "Good morning, Max", he head bobs at me. BUT.......there are times I'll go in his room and come towards him and he will bob at me and I KNOW it means "leave me alone". He also had a certain fast bob during breeding season and on other occasions. He first used that and tried to mate with my arm. I guess what I'm trying to say is --the bobs can mean all kinds of things.
Mine gets all excited at black plums, bobbing and sometimes almost attacking me to get at them.
