It puts out more UV light than the vitalite. I did use a Vitalite years ago when that was about all that was available.

Now you can also get the Active UV light or Zoomed Powersun bulb (which are heat and UV) but as the poster below mentioned...they are $55-$65. They put out even more UV light.
