well, how big is he from his snout to his vent? on melissa kaplans web site somewhere she has a sectio on svl (snout vent lengths) and ages for igs. maybe yours is a normal size, maybe a little too small. if you discover that it is in fact too small, a major factor in it being undersized is its diet. what are you feeding your ig? do you have the proper temparature gradient available to your ig,as improper temps are another large factor in stunted growth. another factor could be ahs it had major illnesses? if so it may be stunted from that. ok well if you want more info just eamil me or write me back in this forum. if you want the address for melissa kaplans site if you email me i can link you. good luck

: Hello Megan and greetings!
: Just to let you know me and my wife recently built a cage for our male, Hamlet.
: We just went to the local Home Depot, got the lumber cut at the store for no charge to the dimensions we wanted, and some chicken wire. Altogether the material including 2 boxes of nails came to app.$35.00 Canadian funds (we live in Calgary).
: Dimensions were: 2 ft wide
: 4 ft long
: 5 ft high
: These dimensions may seem small to you, but our male is quite the runt for a 3 and a half year old, and he may not get any bigger than that. Not too sure why this is, but if you or anyone else has any suggestions, I'm open!
: Thinking that you have a normal growing ig, add a foot or two to each dimension to accommodate a rapidly growing bohemoth!
: Also, remember to utilize support beams on the front and back posted at the halfway mark of the framework to make room for a door, and to tack on some shelves. The lumber you need is basic 2 by 4 inch (really cheap) and some half inch plyboard for the bottom of the cage and for shelves.
: I also say use your imagination to customize to your applications, and I hope I have helped out!
: Good luck and happy building!
: Leenis
: P.S. Thumb through some reptile mags-for example; Reptile Hobbyist mag July 1998
: Page 60 This is a prime example of what you may need to construct.
: magazine ISSN number 1083-432x
: give it a whirl, girl!
