Desert igs are primarily vegitarians in captivity. Danelion greens and blossoms are very nutritious. Care is very similar to that of chuckwallas, so if you have any more questions, go on the chuckwalla forum. Several people there keep both species. Just keep in mind that these guys need very hot temps. If they are not provided with enough heat, they will not eat properly or be able to digest their food. Some other stuff that are good are collard greens, mustard greens and other healthy veggies. Mine loves grated carrots.
