Well, here's my input on the topic!
My female, Ophelia was acquired via a rescue mission through a friend who couldn't keep her, and she was neglected as well, so she had some wild tendencies to her.
Anyways, before I go into her entire history, I'd like to say that my female would sometimes poops on me as an act of self defense!
I would go to pick her up, she would do the usual thrash-a-bout for a minute, and then you could feel her abdomen swell ans a big( and I mean BIG)_ load of the S___T right on my leg.
She hasnt done this for a while now but she still will do the old tail whack to let you know if she doesn't want to be handled right then and there!

I also usually find that after giving the igs a 15 minute bath, they are more relaxed that other times. Maybe try that if you haven't already!
