+ thanks for the invite to ramble, whine, vent ... (*weak grin*)

he goes back to the doc tomorrow morning ...

it feels like for every small *good* thing i can find, i can find 1.5 things that are not-so-good ... i just do not know ... he's certainly been a helluva lot sicker than this with his kidneys ... ... ...
that doesn't cheer me up a whole lot tho ...

he hasn't pooped since wed. nite (before this all happened) ...
he peed last friday (all over me) but hasn't since then ... and THAT is what is really worrying me ... he just totally goes INSANE if i even try to put him in the tub and that is SO UNlike him ~ scares + worries me ALOT ... he does NOT act the way he did when he *was* obstructed, so i don't really think it's that ...

maybe cuz he hasn't eaten much this last week and so really might not have to go ... and tho he's not dehydrated, maybe there's just not enough "extra" to fill his bladder up????
i don't know ...

the last couple days, he's eaten a few bites of food a day on his own, but he's losing weight ... i AM grateful that he was a nice plump 13 pounds before he got sick ...

he *IS* well-hydrated + that's gotta be a really good thing right??????

he remains extremely cooperative with taking his pedialyte 2x a day from the oral syringe ... and amazes me every day that he takes the Baytril so nice too! (i SWEAR he *understands* that it's to help him!!!)

3 scales on the top of his head have "come off" and there's still a bit of pus draining ... i wash it off 1-2x a day + pile silvadine on it ~ partly just to keep it from drying out + sealing shut before all the *yech* comes out ... (+ it IS SO gross ....) ... the top of his head is still VERY dark + it's *not* his "happy-color dark" ...

his gums + throat look better, still tender but better + swelling has gone down some ... saliva has also thinned down considerably, still a bit thick but nothing like it was a week ago ... the roof of his mouth is now really inflamed looking ~ bright red ~ that's also about right below where the scales have come off ... scares the heck outta me that this infection is so close to his brain ...

underneath his 'chin' isn't swollen any more ...
his face + jowls aren't AS swollen as they were ...

but ~

his joints seem stiff sometimes ~ not like he's tense, more like contractures ... scares me that this may have spread to his bones ...

aside from his "bathroom phobia", he *acts* like everything is fine! (+ i DO know it's an "act"!) ... but he's his sweet snuggly self ...

he goes back to the doc late tomorrow morning ...

and hopefully, i will wake up + discover that this was all a hideous nightmare ...
