I have seen Igs eat the plastic leaves, which can cause impactions. If you do choose to use them, make sure they can not be eaten by your Ig. Large, heavy plastic plants seem to be better than smaller (bit size) silk or plastic plants.
But do be careful, like I said, I've Igs pull off the leaves and try to eat them. (I was able to pull one out of an Igs mouth before he ate it.) But if I wouldn't have been right there, I'm sure he would have swollowed it.
