In Reply to: are rhino igs green when young? posted by Hoss on March 18, 2002 at 19:24:24:
Just out of curiosity, I noticed an earlier post about rhinos in Canada, did the animal that "Karen" was referring to turn out to be a green iguana? Some people mistakenly refer to green iguanas with the geographic variation of rostral horns as "rhino iguanas." This is a misnomer as the two species (cyclura cornuta and iguana iguana) are very different. I wondered about this when she said that this guy was sort of dropped in her lap. That sort of thing just doesn't happen very often with rhino igs. They have a certain monetary value which usually prevents them from being thrown away like so many green iguanas. So...if this is the case, and you're still looking, I know a couple of reputable breeders in the states. I'm not sure about shipping regulations between here and there, but I know where you can get a very reasonably priced hatchling. Send me an email.
