sheesh John this is a very strange case!!! I have never heard of such a thing. I think it would have to be environmental or psychological. If he in fact doesn't have any fungus or mites (which I'm sure you would have noticed) then could it be an allergy to something--maybe a food,pollen, water, soap, cleaning products, or something in the house. I get itchy with allergies sometimes and scratch a lot. And then there is the psychological side of things.... any changes recently to environment, your behavior/time spent with him, diet, homelife, furniture, sleeping habits, lights, etc.???? I really hope you figure this out...poor Bug :( I am worried for him and his self destructive behavior. Keep us posted.
