iZ always used the pile o' paper towels in the corner of his enclosure (back when he was "short" ... LOL)
when he 1st started usin' the tub, he used to line his vent up with the drain, let loose and then *bobobobb* at me to "fill the tub up with water now humommy!" ... (it was a pretty *kewl* trick + he thought of it himself!)
anyway ...
water is by no means a requirement ~ it's just that if there *is* water nearby, *most* igs will use it as the "toilet" ...
what i'd try is ...
put the pan where you plan to + put some poop in it and show her ... ok, that might sound weird/gross/crazy ~but~ unless she knows the word for it, how else are you gonna explain WHY that new thing is in her house!??
i think once she figures out that she doesn't have to get a favorite shelf all stinky, she'll like it ... :)
