Leenis...good to see your giving serious thought to breeding your Igs. I think you already answered your own question tho. Yes indeed the Iguana market is dwindling. Here in California they're practically giving them away. One can get a baby for $6.95 and an adult for free (adoption) or as little as $25.00
Being a serious iguana owner also means being a responsible one.
If you can ENSURE that the possibly up to 60 (maybe an exaggeration) babies will have a home (majority will be lucky to make it past three months..because of inexperienced owners) then go for it. I bet once you've experienced the hassle of finding homes for all those babies...you'll never ever wanna try it again.I too have an adult male & female, and know the thrill of wondering what it would be like to have lil iglets running rampant..but I dare not travel that road. The possibility of having to donate (they won't pay you for them) those iglets to places like Petco...makes me physically ill just at the thought!
Enjoy your Igs and all the wonders of their funny behaviors as they are ..like you have been...unless youre in DIRE need of stress....need some?? I'll send you some of mine!...lol
Relish Leenis!
