little black spot

When I had Sneakers out a couple of days ago I noticed that she had a tiny little black spot on the middle of her tail. Its on the spikes. The spot, when rubbing a finger across felt like dry burnt skin. I immediately went to look at her cage to see if how she could have burnt herself. She has nothing hot in the cage and the lighting is on top of the mesh screen. No holes in the screen. I have been putting that tri-anticbotic cream on the spot. It hasn't gotten any bigger. It is about the size of a fourth of a pencil eraser. Today she has started to shed all over. Do you think this was part of it? The two little spikes it is effecting are just so brittle. I think that with everyone talking about black spots on their igs I'm getting paranoid. All the other spots that she is shedding is whitish skin. Is this possibly going to be a trouble spot?
