If you are getting a common green iguana as a baby you
cannot choose the sex anyway.If you really want one sex or the other
get a older rescue iguana.

Females that are raised their whole life in a very healthy
environment with good food and plenty of real sunshine (not
pathetic UV tubes) will rarely have trouble with eggbinding, but
if you are really worried you can get your female spayed
by a very good vet.
