“Mr. Bitey”
We adopted our baby Malachy about 1yr (&10days) ago. He had recently been rescued and nursed back to health. He is at least 4yrs old & over 4`long. At first he was scared and slightly skiddish, yet has remained well mannered. He adores affection and always acts perfectly content, as long as he is continually being pet.
........When we are here he is a free roamer, often sleeping in our bed with his head on the pillow. He had a healthy checkup. He eats a lot(organic bananas&peel, dandelion&collered greens, fruit, tofu), he has a heating pad, a $75 light bulb, a well utilized love sock,a beautiful ocean view, and a mom & dad who would do anything for him.
........Last October (breeding season)my “Angel” took on a new (well earned) nick name “Mr. Bitty”. Bitting his mirror, his 3 stuffed girlfriends, the bathtub water, his cage, my thumbnail, and eventually my boyfriends nose.
..........Though he lacks the same aggression (as during the actually breeding weeks), he is very rambunctious. He wants to play ….yet hard ..&with teeth. Sometimes he’ll lunge, or get all puffy, strutting around, showing his tough side, but with no intent to be mean, he even gives reassuring bobs that it is all in fun.
........How do we interact? Is he trying to communicate something more? Does he wanna go to the park (we haven’t been in awhile)? Should we give him entertainment when he is home alone? We are buying him a larger habitat (however having to get our love bites treated in the emergency room has delayed this purchase). I do have some experience (10yrs with my 1st baby boy), however we would appreciate any advise. Thanks …Bitey's Mom&Dad
