I have seen a lot of baby igs sold as "Blue Diamonds" lately. Sounds like a marketing scam to me... Typically they will charge $5-10 more for these ones.

For a true blue... Look at my pics a few posts down :-)

: Well you really need to find out the name of the iguana type you have...post a photo and someone will identify it. Different iguanas require completely different care (diet etc.)

: If you have the Zoomed 5.0/Reptisun light that is your UV light. Remember these lights need to be changed out every 6 months whether they burn out or not. Regular bulbs are fine for heat as long as they get you to the proper temps. Iguanas don't need any light at night (disrupts them) but you can use a ceramic bulb that emits no light but plenty of heat. If your bulb is really dark & your lizard sleeps in a hidey hut, I would just use it until it burns out then switch to the ceramic one (they are a more expensive but can last well over a year).

: As far as the screen... your ig can get a lot of nose/mouth wounds from this. If you are set on a wood and mesh type of cage, go with the plastic hardware cloth stuff (it will be gentler). Otherwise, you can use more plexiglass and some metal hardware cloth on the top for the lights.

: Good luck.

: : my iguana, has blue around her neck, she is called a blue collard iguana....or something, i probbaly screwed up teh name. but hey, that doesn't even matter. ok, she has, a flukers light, 50 watts that stays on 24 hours a day, it like a black heat light. Now this light im about to mention might not be acceptable, it is just a 100watt bulb that i use for heat, it works great. then i have the strip light that goes off at 8:00pm and on at 8:00am it is from..repti-.......something... it has UVB rays. i know i know i need a bigger cage. im working on it, i think im gonna build like a big screen one with a wooden frame. any better ideas?? well ok, i hope thats sufficiant. o by the way....inches not feet...HAHAHA
