We have a Canon Powershot S300. It was around 500.00, for the US market (not the grey market) and we shopped long and hard for it. It has an optical zoon, 2.1 mega pixels and a rechargeable litiun ion battery.

We're really happy with it. We ordered it after much research and months of waiting.
