This is a little greek tortoise who belonged to a friend of mine; Arriba fit in the palm of my hand and those are rose petals surrounding him. The only thing I did to the photo with Photoshop was to reduce it to a smaller size (its original size was 600K and more than filled my 21" monitor), no other adjustments made.
The Nikon has a terrific macro capability, w/o having to buy additional lenses. I like the resulting colors it produces, and doing mostly herp shots, I've found the greens and "tropical colors" are rich. I also have an early Olympus model D340R 1.3MP which I got plenty of use from. I would have continued with the Olympus line (at the time, I was looking at the E10 but its price was high and there were some pixelation distortion issues) but because my shots tend to be mostly macro, I went with the Nikon.
These two sites are what I used to research cameras:

You can go to my clubphoto site at http://members1.clubphoto.com/desiree76336/owner-f71e-1.phtml to see the photos I've taken; I only tho have 1 album using the Nikon atm. When I can, I'll upload these photos I took from the Mandalay Bay Aquarium (Las Vegas, NV) of golden croccies and moray eels :)
