Placing the eggs in the freezer will prevent more iguanas from being born into an already WAY over-saturated market. I can't speak for others here on the board that do iguana rescue but just in ours alone we have 20 (#20 showed up today) and a list of people waiting to surrender 25 deep. That's 20 iguanas in addition to 2 adult monitors, 12 snakes, 22 other assorted lizards, 1 tortoise, 6 frogs and 1 waterdog, most of these animals are suffering from the improper care, neglect and abuse they suffered from their former caretakers. There are an addional 20 people on the waiting list to surrender animals other than iguanas and we are awaiting contact regarding two more police actions where they require our assistance as a reptile rescue. So, in the end, it is not abortion, it is called being responsible, compassionate and humane to the iguana problem.
