We keep the iguana in a closed bedroom during the day (with his cage, lights, and all proper equipment) when we are gone. However, when we are home, the iguana and the cats and dog all have free roam of the house. We have never had any problems.

I'm not saying everyone could do this, or that every iguana would live with six cats, or that six cats would live with every iguana...I'm just saying that in my case, it works.
