cat nails are trimmed, dog nails are trimmed --is this a violation as well?
Bird beaks are trimmed too, as well as rodent teeth. The fact is, when natural wood and bark and such is not provided to keep the needle-sharp nails under control, the nails may become dangerous towards the humans, and the animal. If birds aren't provided with a cuttle stone, their beeks can grow into their necks and kill them. If iguana's nails aren't dulled with climbing, or trimmed by the owner, they will eventually grow, cruve, and can inflict injury and severe discomfort for the iguana.
