I wish I could remember where I found it. It stated the problem with animal proteins in the diet of an iguana has something to do with ratios of purine/pyramidine, different amino acid ratios, and the fact that the breakdown of these in the iguana's body produces uric acid...which then crystalizes out in the organ tissue. I will look for the article when I have some extra time.
