I really can't answer those questions because I'm just as lost as you are when it comes to reliable scientific data in that field.
I can however say, that I know some people who feed there igs pinkies on occasion and they seem to be very healthy and have been for years.
I personally don't bother with that stuff, just for the simple fact that from what I have seen...igs are vegitarians, and many people on this forum have been housing igi's for years with a well balanced vegitarian diet.
I would be interested to if someone could explain this theory:0)
