: : Didn't mean to come off sounding like I am endorsing her book or anything..*grin*
: : I just personally feel that the way it's written and the charts and links in the back etc. make it a well rounded reference book. It sure doesn't hurt to have it as far as I'm concerned. J

:
: LOL (I like the *grin*) ;)

: No, my point was directied towards Nanci. It sounded a lot like she is placing a value on one's knowledge because they have written a book, that's all. Amassing any knowledge (correct knowledge that is) is a good thing, and no, it does not hurt to have.

: Cheers.

I have gone to Melissa's site and read her bio as well as a lot of info she's written. I've gone to many many other sites and if the info is the same at (say) a bunch of different sites, then I take it to be fairly on the mark.

I've gotten a lot of good info from Melissa herself. She has a lot of experience with reptiles. There are points I don't agree with, of course, but for the most part, I do trust her.

I'm an older adult and don't believe everything I read in books, believe me. I read a LOT and I have checked out many many sites on here. When I first "inherited" my ig, I didn't know anything at all about them, so I read. I went to the library and took books out (useless, since they are way out of date), researched on here and talked to people.

I mentioned the eggs because Henry's opinion (on my other board) is that they are okay when igs are young, based on people he knows who have raised their igs like that.

Most people HAVE to trust the books and the sites. How else can you find anything out? How else can you know what's right and wrong?

We might find out in l0 years some of what we're doing now is wrong. Who knows.
