I can understand why you didn't see it coming. I've read that males can change from sweet natured gentlemen to tyrants around the age of 5 years. Not all do & I'm hoping ours won't.
I know that right now you have your hands full taking care of Draco and worrying about him. But when you have time, I'd be curious to know if the vet (or you) think this might have occurred because it was two males versus opposite sexes. I ask because I have a female & a male (ages 5 and 4 respectively). They do spend time out of their enclosures but rarely are both out at the same time except when they are outside in the back yard.
I hope that Draco will be on the mend very soon. I'm sorry that you both are going through this. If he needs to be calm for a long period, someone (think it was Roman) suggested a while back to keep their night lights on & not switch over to day so that the iguana would remain in a "sleep" mode.
