only feed protein if....

It won't happen right away...just after you have become completely attached to your wonderful ig and couldn't imagine not having him around (that's when he'll die). Just to illustrate the difference, my vet has a chart on the wall with proper foods to feed iguanas...all calcium rich veggies that coincide with the diet I use (also backed up by many books and reputable internet sites...Jen Swofford's Iguana pages has excellent diet info. The chart in the vet's office also says that they are vegetarians and you should avoid all animal protein.
