because your vet and the pet stores are probably behind the times. A lot of new information has been discovered in the past few years that many people don't take the time to check out. For example, my vet, with whom I'm very happy with, didn't even know what an Active UV bulb was. He hadn't heard of them and they've been out for awhile now. I think sometimes people in that profession and also pet store owners have so much to worry about that they don't take time to update their information and resources. It's really a shame. I teach piano for a living and I would be at a loss if I didn't constantly research new materials and curriculum. There is new stuff out there ALL the time.
Anyway, didn't mean to rant, but take Nanci's advise and pick up a copy of "Iguanas for Dummies" by Melissa Kaplan. It's available for order at any bookstore or on Amazon.com. Good luck and keep researching so that you can make a well-informed decision on what to feed your Iguana. J
