When I first brought Gordon home, he was screaming bright crayola crayon sunburst orange all over. I had never seen another iguana like him. He was also in the throws of breeding season and downright vicious. Since his season has ended, his color has faded considerably. He still maintains an overall orangish hue, but deeper greens and browns are beginning to show through. As for the tail, Gordon actually lost a good portion of his as a youngster. It has regrown rather nicely, but the regrowth is basically a solid orangish green color to match the rest of his body. I don't know what it might look like had it not been broken.
