I adopted him a couple of months ago. I am well aware of his history because he belonged to friends of a friend. He had been with them for nearly 4 years when he came into his first season. He had been a very tame animal until approximately five months earlier when he suddenly became VERY aggressive and unpredictable. He actually spent several days in a 50 gallon aquarium in a local pet store because the previous owners just couldn't handle him. Being the sucker that I am for a sweet green face, I brought the terrible dragon home with me and let him free roam in my home. How bad could it be right? Riiiight...For two weeks, the monster stalked me incessantly. I had never seen anything like it! I had to watch him constantly because he would attack suddenly and out of nowhere, completely unprovoked. Sneaking stealthily up the side of the sofa as I sat reading, he would slink along the back, jaws open, staring with bloodlust at the back of my neck before going in for the kill. I narrowly avoided several close calls with the face. When he did latch onto some body part or piece of clothing, he would immediately go into the thrashing alligator roll trying to tear a piece off. He had no fear and was always on the offensive. Fortunately, after two weeks of terror, he suddenly converted back into an absolute sweetheart, but not before delivering several nasty bite wounds to various parts of my anatomy. So I'm afraid I might have to argue with you regarding which sex delivers the worst "stink eye," and as far as really meaning it...I've got the scars to prove it :) I still love him though! And I will enjoy him as much as I possibly can...until next year...(insert JAWS theme music here).
