Your age can be a factor....are you settled, out of highschool, college and ready for a long-term commitment? If you are still in highschool it can be tough when you leave to go off to college etc.
My teen-age son bought one and guess who's the principle care-taker now? LOL
Anyway, read all you can and let us know where you are. We may know of a rescue near you should you choose to adopt (which is the best way to go if you want my opinion!) Good luck. J
