Well sometimes I have that problem too, but a few things I changed seemed to help.
1. Make sure you have a large enclosure with plenty of hiding places for the crickets (like papertowel rolls and bunched up papertowels) so they don't trample each other.
2. Make sure they are not kept too cold or hot and have air holes.
3. Give them collard greens or other leafy veggies for water/food. I also use pellets I bought for my dragon but he refuses to eat. You can also use cottonballs soaked with water for hydration. These items seem to be less stinky and disgusting then other options I've tried.
4. If you don't use them all up in 2 days, clean out the container-- pull out old collards and dead crickets and old soiled papertowels. Replace them (it is a pain, but I want to puke when I smell how nasty they get anyway... must keep them clean if I am going to feed them to my beardie)
Also, sometimes you get a bad batch that may have been treated improperly before you got them. I always lose some, but if I can keep most of them alive until feeding time I feel good. Lately, I feed them to the anoles out back because Flapjack is turning his nose up at them!
