Christy...
I see that you feel strongly about your ig's, and that is fantastic. But, in this instance, I feel that you overreacted slightly before knowing the entire situation.
Bobby did not make his decision lightly, and placed his pets in good, caring, loving homes. He has waited for two years, has decided that he will not have other children, and now would like to get another pet. He did not dump an iguana and treat it as if it didn't matter.
And, simply because you are a strong person, who can care for sick children and pets, and who is knowledgable on how to protect yourself from salmonella doesn't mean that Bobby was wrong for making a decision based on HIS life.
I have many different types of pets, and although I agree that pets are not disposable creatures, the life of a human being is more important. If, for whatever reason, Bobby felt that the life of his wife and/or unborn child was at risk, he was perfectly justified in finding a good adoptive home for his pets. You may be right that he may have had other alternatives, but simply because he chose one alternative over another isn't a reason to say that his reason was "stupid."
