Christy, it is not okay to dump animals. But it is okay to educate people to not make the same mistakes. being very ethusiastic about herps/iguana's, you might see this as absolutely, downright atrocious. It is almost the same as feeding iguana's mealworms all their life, because that is what the person was told to do. But, They didn't know any better. Yes, to us it might seem completely stupid, irresponsible, etc. But if the person thought that the informer of the information was a reliable source, and trusted them, what other choice did they have? Not many people go against a doctor's orders. I'm sure they didn't just let the animals go without any heartbreak. The bond between animals and man is strong, very strong. But when the welfare of a CHILD comes into play, some people do not even consider alternatives. And now, before we go on bashing joe smoe, or suzie q., lets educate the people about safer (for humans and animals) alternatives. :)
