He'll probably be fine as long as you keep it clean and put some antibiotic on it. However, you may need a new cage design. Some cages lead to many more injuries than others...and if it keeps up he could lose most of his nails (and not be able to climb well anymore).

If you are using a wire mesh cage or something similar, I suggest you redesign a cage with plexiglass and wood or melamine. Good luck.
