#1...the pet shop is not supposed to sell or trade a turtle less that 4" across the plastron. #2 if it is an eastern painted baby, it will eat fish...you found that out. Put it in an aquarium with about 4" of water. Put a smooth rock in there for it to sit on to bask. be careful not to pile rocks they can pin it down and kill it.
Provide a basking lamp (can be a regular small lamp that provide heat) and put a thermometer nearby ...temps should be about 75degrees.
They eat turtle sticks, shrimp flakes...small worms or worms cut up, meal worms...cooked chicken chunks very small pieces. email me if you need more advice.
