I just finished watching animal precinct on Animal Planet. Today, there was a case where a Schitzophrenic mother threw her sons iguana out of the window. The son was on Vacation. The iguana came in emaciated, with two broken bones, possible MBD, and no bowel movememnts. They named the Iguana Pricilla, nursed it back to health, and placed it in a home.
At first, I was upset about the condition, then relieved to see that the vet knew relatively accurate information on Iguanas. I later became rather dismayed that they incorrectly sexed the iguana, and placed it with a home of a man who was a wild/exotic aimal rehabber. The man was incorrectly holding the animal, while it squirmed. He held a firm hold on its tail, with the other hand under its armpits. The Iguana was the bright orange color, of a male in breeding season. He had jowls and was a pretty obvious male when he was placed at the home of this supposed professional. He said that the Iguana got a bigger cage, but the cage it was seen in when it was at this rehabilitators house, seemed like the size of a medium - large dog crate. At the end of the show, I was rather dismayed, as my initial happiness about the vet visit turned into dissapointment
