I've used 2 kinds. The Holmes is running now- it's a "wicking" type where the water comes from a tank and goes through a filter and is dispersed by a fan. I humidify my whole office because I also have fruit flies and tropical plants to consider. I also have used Vicks vaporizers right in the enclosure with a box of chicken wire and wood built around it. That works better if the enclosure has solid sides- mine is chicken wire. I have used that plastic window-sealer stuff that you tape on and heat with a hair dryer in the winter to help trap the humidity as well.
