: im a new ig mommy and i would like to warn you about some things ive learned in the past fiew months, first of all, avoid buying any thing that requires care from durrells petshops because they lack proper training in herp care and several people i know that have purchased from durrells have lost their herps in under 2 months, i was reading through the forum and i noticed some old messages about discoloration, take your herp to the vet immediatly, and insist on testing, even the most reputible herp vet can make mistakes, beware of white patches, my water dragon's tail turned bleach white the vet said that discoloration in molting can occour in younger herps, but it turned out to be some sort of disease that we couldnt identify and killed him in days, herp will become less ennergetic, and will scratch and rub like molting, in drakes case he devoleped orange bumps and they spread through out his body, if any one knows what this illness may be, please contact me, im taking in another lizard with the same disease because ive dealt with it already, another thing, if youre iguana is ill, giving him clear pedialyte will help replace lost minerals and is harmless, aside from my new ig, for a while now ive been takeing in igs who are sick, for people who dont have the time or patience to deal with the needs of a sick ig, any way the point is, pedialyte works wonders, but only give in small amounts because too much can cause diahrhea. i also have a question, for any one with a male, my new ig does some weird thing where he sticks out his dwelap and moves his head around, and kind of prances, he does it every morning, and i think this is around m,ateing season, is this a mateing dance or is he just kind of weird, ? at first i thought it was another sign of attacking, but through his body language ive learned that it isnt. once again if you know any thing about white tail, or the mateing thing please let me know,
: thank you,
: venus blue

Hi Venus Blue, about the mating thing, does he do the dance in one main room? When my Caesar started mating behavoir,he mainly did it in our kitchen. If I walkd in there when he was on the floor ,look out here he came at my feet. He got my feet 3 times badly, in any other room, he didn't bother me, he went after My boyfriend.Caesar would fly across the room at Dan and chase him out the door. It was terrible and we did everything we could to stop his aggresiveness but to no avail.Watch him when he's on the floor, they usually stake out one room as their domain for breeding.Good luck with the other problem.
