Ganghis Khan rules the roost

Ganghis seems to be eating every other day. Yesterday he didnt even whip me when i came in his cage. He seems to be exploring his cage little by little. Some times i cant even find him in the cage because it is so big and he is so small (5in.) He loves his new environment. He likes to be cold at nights though. Is this normal? He has a ceramic heater that makes a basking spot 95 deg. but he sits on his log which is only 75 deg.
