: Hi guys! Psyche didn't test deficient for anything, so that's good news! She gets greener by the day.
: My questions are:
: Celery. How balanced is it, calcium/phosphorus-wise? Is it a good choice as a vegetable? How about celery GREENS?
: And....endive. Curly, not Belgian. How good is that? I've finally found a place that carries some other greens, and I'm wondering how good this is because collard greens and mustards in the stores get kind of nasty around this time of year. Is endive appropriate as a normal, every-other-day or every day green?
: And... Cactus pads... the ones they sell in stores... how're those? Psyche seems to like them, but are they okay?

: One more thing: How can I encourage her to drink? Her food gets watered down heavily, but I'd like to see her get a little more moisture. Any ideas? Are humidifiers bad to use near heat lamps, or is there a specific distance away I should keep it?

Endive and escarole (supposedly almost the same things) are fine for your iguana. Collards, mustard greens, dandelion greens are all good, too. Yes, sometimes they aren't the nicest. I usually clean out the nasty collards and store them in a pitcher of water in the fridge. It keeps them (well most of them) crispy and lasts just about a week. The others I clean the bad stuff out and wrap in paper towels and put in a plastic bag in the fridge and they last long, too.

Romaine, while not a good everyday food, is a good way for your ig to get a little extra moisture. If your ig ate good all day, you can give a piece of romaine as a little treat. Also, watermelon, plums, etc., same -- not as an everyday food, but a treat and they have high water contents.

If you are misting the ig and the food and are still keeping a water dish in there, your ig might be taking a drink while you aren't there.

I'm home all day and I do see mine drink deeply at least once a day, if not twice.
