I dont have any :-)

The igs are not all at my house. The are at my south area manager's house... But I am most likely moving into her house in the next few months, so they I will be living with them :-)

We have them all in separate cages right now, with the exception of the 4 juvies, who share a cage, and two couples who get along good.

Everyone else has to have their own cages, because they would eat each other alive!!

This is how it works...

7 cages in the living room. This houses Liam, Snuggles, Skye, and Nubbs (had all his claws removed, hence the name) in one cage (they are the juvies).

Spike has his own cage. He is a small male... 4-5 yrs old, and looks like a 1-2 yr old.

Sapeka has a cage to himself, which sits under the Juvie cage. Sapeka is 8-9 yrs old, and had surgery a few months ago. He had a bladder stone the size of a biscuit.

Lucian is in a cage that was donated to us. He is a burn victim, and small for his age also. He is around 6-7 yrs old, and a little bit bigger than spike.

Hank's cage is next to Lucian's... Hank was surrendered to us after being found outside the first day of snow this year.

Sweet pea is our TEENY little one year old with severe MBD. He/She is small enough to live in a 20 gal aquarium for now... And it makes it much easier for us to keep an eye on him/her.

Whopper's cage is between Spike's and Sapeca's. Whopper is 3 yrs old, 7" SVL.

There is also a 12 ft Burmese Python and two tree frogs in the living room.

Between the living room and the kitchen is a 100 gallon aquarium for the aquatic turtles. 12 turtles ( I think!) in there right now.

Dopey and Regina share a cage in the kitchen. They are a happy couple that gets along great! But dont try to take Dopey's girlfriend out of the cage, he will have a fit!

Mahana has one of the bigger cages... His was built into a garden window/sun room area. He is our manager's personal pet :-)

Nidian's cage is in the dining room... She inherited Mr. Toast's cage after he died. Nidian is the BIG girl in the house... and full of attitude!

Mr Toast, the boy who died, was around 9 yrs old, 59" SVL, and 16 lbs. Biggest I have seen...

Big Ben, the asian water moniter, has a cage across the way from Nidian's cage. His cage is about 8 x 3 x 3.

4 semi-aquatic turtles live in an aquarium above Big Ben's cage.

Upstairs in one bedroom is Winnie and Percy. They are the other couple... Their cage is a custom job, takes up half of the bedroom.

Mick, another burm victim, used to live with Winnie and Percy, but Percy wouldnt share his girlfriend. So now Mick is living in a bathroom.

Izzard, the biggest (and meanest) male is living in the other bathroom...

King George, the california kingsnake, lives in a cage in another bedroom.

In the basement lives one salamander, and a couple hibernating turtles.

Rahm is living at my house, and free roams in the evenings. He doesnt appreciate my two snakes though...

All the iguana cages are covered up anywhere they will be in sight of another iguana. If they see each other, they will scratch, claw, and rub until they find a way out or are bloody.

A typical day... Well, I will give you a saturday. Thats a lot easier. Wake up around 8 or 9, and start chopping vegetables. About 10 bunches of various greens, vegetables, and some fruits will usually be enough to feed everyone.

After chopping everything up, we grab a stack of paper plates, and go from cage to cage feeding each one of them. This is also when they get their first misting of the day.

By the time you feed the last one, it is time to go to the first cage, and start cleaning. This is where the double team effort comes into play. One person grabs the ig, and takes him to the bathroom for a soak in the tub. The other person will clean out that cage, usually finishing up as the other person finishes bathing that iguana.

Then on to the next cage... And on, and on.

All the other animals have to be fit into the schedule as well... So we do that as we go. The snakes have to be fed, which involves thawing rats, trying to get them to eat, and such.

And, there is socialization. Each iguana needs to spend enough time out of the cage for handling, exercise, etc. This is actually very time consuming, considering a lot of them are VERY ANGRY.

Honestly, we just dont have time to clean every cage every day. During the week, we will do a few cages here and there, mostly spot cleaning. We always get the ones that need it the worst, but if it is just a little poop on the bottom of the cage, it can usually wait a day or so. Not the end of the world!

Thats just a quick view anyway... I've most likely forgotten a lot. Hope that answered your question!

: I think its wonderful that all the rescuers do this. I gotta ask whats your house look like?? Is wall to wall cages or a seperate area for the ig's HOW the heck do you guys do it, with just DD along with my human kids, adn other pets it takes me almost all afternoon to clean up her messes she loves to make. Whats the day in the life of someoen that cares for that many iguanas like? Do you have a seconds peace? Do they go nuts with that many around or are they totally sperated? The reason I ask is I was watching a tv show the other day with iguanas on it DD was on my should and when she saw another iguana she went BASERK. Good luck and hopefully some will get adopted out soon.

:
: : We definitely have more coming in than going out, thats for sure!! So... by Sunday we will be at 20.

: : Tonight's rescue is a 9 month old (poss.) male. The good part is the people surrendering him want to sponsor him for a year :-)

: : Sunday's rescue is a young one... We have already recieved one Ig from this same couple, I guess they decided they didnt want this one either.

: : I'll try to post some pictures this weekend.... Redoing our site right now, and hoping to have a completed products soon!
