: Ever not get to feed your iguana till 4 pm and see the look on there face???? Man if looks could hav killed DD would have had me dead all ready. It starts off this am as the collards just looked a bit wilted so I wasnt going to fed them to her but stop on my way home from dropping off the kids at school and get fresh. My mother comes over and wanted to drive the kids to school with m and had to go to the store. Well I decided to go ahead and go get her a varity of fresh goodies. Well as I try to unlock the door the key breaks off in the lock. Long story short I had to wait till my husband could get home and break in using his drivers license (I got the key peice out but his key wouldn't work either). SO at 4 pm dd finally got her first meal and boy was she ticked off at me YIKES.
When I buy a bunch of collards, I cut them at the bottom and store them in a pitcher of water. I wrap most of the other veggies in paper towels and put them in a plastic bag. Then when I feed them to my iguana, I keep a nice-sized rectangular container of water and lay the veggies in there (making sure the bottoms are in the water). It keeps them fresh for hours (keep out of the way of the basking light)unless Max pulls one out to eat. Occasionally we go away from Sat. afternoon until Sunday and I will do that and when I get home on Sunday, they are usually still okay.
