Let me share a few quick notes as a person involved with reptile rescue.
First and foremost, we do not have to go out looking for animals to rescue. They come to us. If we asked, begged, pleaded for everyone with an unwanted reptile to bring it to us, we would be swamped even worse than we are now.
Dont get me wrong, we do everything possible to take in every reptile we can, but we have no need to go out of our way to find them. They will always come to us.
People doing this make me a little catious as well... Some of them trying to acquire free animals to further their breeding programs. Most of them breeding the animals that are already a problem, and making it only worse for us.
And of course there are the ones who are only interested in making money off them as well. A rescue doesnt make money... Trust me. We spend much more than we ever get back in donations, adoption fees, etc. If the rescue business ever puts us "ahead", I will fall over dead, no lie.

: We have begun to see an alarming trend of this type of "ad" -not only on the internet but in local newspapers as well. Sadly, what we have come to find out is that these people are collecting unwanted reptiles and re-selling them, in many cases calling themselves breeders. We also have several area pet stores doing this as well.
: We have even met one of these "breeders" at a reptile expo where they gave us a snake so badly damaged, we had to have it euthanized.
: I know that there is probably no one here who would pay attention to such a post but please alert others in different communities as to what is going on. 9 times out of 10 these animals are not getting the care they deserve -these people are only interested in lining their pockets with money -not giving the animals proper care.
