If you have a male, thought I'd respond just to reiterate what Nanci had to say. My male has major, major issues with reflections. He smashed his nose trying to defend his territory against what he thought was another iguana. I had to take him out of that cage (which I gave to my female-no problems with her), while I built a new one for him. I had to use a vinyl covered screen material, with gaps large enough he wouldn't catch his toes, but small enough not to catch his head through either. Then of course, since climate control for just the cage becomes an issue, you have to worry about the whole room.
If you do get plexiglass (which I'm thinking about), then cover it with something you can see through, but will not allow him to see his reflection. maybe some type of sheer material if at all possible, or scratch it up, or etch it or something. Can't stress enough, that a male cannot see a reflection. It may be able to be accomplished through light placement too depending on the design of the cage.
Hope something in here helps....
