Only three months in didn't seem so bad to me just yet either. The most time consuming thing is - time. If you want your Iggy to be tame long term, you'll have to spend plenty of quality time with him/her. You won't be able to skim thru by feeding, cleaning droppings. We also give ours baths, have to thoroughly clean their cages (they're adults now), and the food prep - manage to make enough to last 4 days at once, but takes a good 20minutes just getting that together.

The other thing is space that their cages take up since they're so huge.

Would I do it again? Yeah - but only one Iggy the next time around!
