:Then many of us have rescues that have required BEYOND the all ready specialezed iguana care. Like dd for instance, she had SEVERAL chocking episodes her tounge even turning blue, Now all food must be food proceesed to prevent this. She can not shed herself so I MUST do taht for her. She likes to do poo paintings which is a work at 1 am to clean up. For me im not a reptile person iguanas stole my heart and truly the only reptile I would own (NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE ELSE). I knew what I Was getting into this time around SO i was prepared there are days I wish it was easier just for the fact of I wish SHE didnt have to deal wtih what she does. Also 4 months is a short time compartivily to the next 15 to 20 years. Just my opions is all hope it helped some.
Hi all!
: I was just reading your posts below about how some of you would have chosen other lizards as pets if you had known how much work iguanas were. I was just wondering what you all meant by this - I've had my ig for almost four months now and she doesn't seem to be that much work at all. All her temps and lights are regulated by timers and all I really have to do is feed her every day and collect her little "droppings" and throw them away. The only problem I have with her is that she's a little bit squirmy when I hold her. Obviously you all have more experience than I do, so if you could enlighten me as to what I'm missing I'd appreciate it. I've been looking into tegus and others and they seem to need similar care to igs. Thanks!
