: Okay dd's got the spike nubs before she had about 4 to 5 little spikes when I got her on her tail but none on her head or back. So any special care you take with growing spikes?
My ig used to squish himself under furniture, so he's missing one or two spikes.
Harnesses can squish and break spikes.
The only "care" I really have to do is when they shed. It's sometimes hard for them to get the skin off the spikes, so a little help is usually needed. If the skin is real dry, you can lift it right off the spikes. If it has some resistance, wait a day and try again. Spray your iggie and give baths which will also help during shedding.
Sometimes I used to rub (gently) along the sides of the spikes to loosen the skin (during shedding). Since yours only has tiny ones, this won't be a problem for you until they grow a little more.
