hmm. I really don't know how you would fix the lights to be up at the top....maybe suction cups would work but not for a large iguana, and then you'd have the problem of making sure he can't touch the lights from the inside. I have thought of this issue many times myself, for my tree frogs and my pink toe tarantula but I haven't figured out a way to keep them off the lights.
Since you already know your iguana will require a much larger, custom enclosure maybe you can house him temp. in some other opetions....
You could buy a BIG dog dog crate second hand, not the kind that has walls, but the kind that is all heavy wire (big around and smooth, not little wire like chicken wire) Roxy used to use one for outside sunning when we first got her.
You could also house him in a bathroom for more space, or maybe even a spare room? I know those are not always options people have. Just suggesting! You could also make a temp, cheap enclosure out of 1 by 1's and some plastic coated fencing, or hardware cloth. It would probably cost under 100.
