Just thought I would share the successes I have had with Sneakers lately. She has decided not to be a crazy lizard when I go to pick her up. She just lets me reach in and get her. Tonight I had her out on my lap and I had my hand by her head, she came over and rested her head on my fingers. Even my hubby noticed and mentioned it. When I go to put her back in her cage, she doesn't run to one end of the cage and glare at me like she used to, she trys to run back up my arm to my shoulder. No more turning black with stress when being held, she just stays her beautiful emerald green self.
Her normal perch is now on my shoulder. She rides around on my shoulder, if I bend over she runs down my back and back up when I stand up. Also other places are on the top of my head, hanging off my ear and up and down my arm. Last night she was on top of my head, which is apparently slippery, and she wrapped her tail across my eyes in an attempt to hang on.
I know that we will still have a long way to go and there will be setbacks. She still trys to sneak away. Once she is off my shoulder she quickly seems to forget that we were just pals and slowly trys to make an escape.
Of course, I'm not letting her read any of this. I still want her to believe that she is training me to take her on rides around the house. LOL
